Lesson 9. Natural Science: A healthy lifestyle

LESSON 9

 NATURAL SCIENCE

A healthy lifestyle

How are you? I hope you're alright :)

Last week we - I -  divided the topic  in 3 parts: Today we are going to continue with the second one: A healthy lifestyle.

HOMEWORK

Read pages 26 and 27 in your natural science book.

EASY PEASY...

¡La Rosalía!

💃

Now, all you have to do is TO COPY ALL THE THEORY IN YOUR NOTEBOOKS...

REAL HOMEWORK

Read pages 26 nd 27 in your natural science book.

Do a MINDMAP in your notebook where you add things to follow a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.

(Yes! You can do it in a piece of paper and then save it in your notebook)

WHAT THINGS?

Read the book first! Be active, limit screen time, sleep, brush your teeth, wash your hands, eat healthy, ... I'm sure you have more ideas than the book ;)

I'm going to put here some EXAMPLES.

They are JUST IDEAS, I don't pretend that you copy them... just to give you ideas so you can elaborate your own.

You did an AMAZING job with the mindmaps that we did in class (invertebrates, rocks, water cycle...) so I'm looking forward to see what you do with this one.

If you want, send it to my email: teacher4grade2019@gmail.com

On Wednesday, I told you that this topic is going to be divided in 3 parts:

1. Healthy eating

2. A healthy lifestyle

3. Health and medicine

Well, today we are going to start with the first one: Healthy eating.

HOMEWORK

Read page 24 in your natural science book.  Anything you didn't know about?

Now, like we used to do in class, you have to copy the theory in your notebooks.

HERE you can see this document, 'the whiteboard 3.0'. Now, it's up to you!

REMEMBER!

First the cover of the topic, then you write the title 'healthy eating' and you write the theory :)

Also, there are different activities in BlinkLearning, but they remove the access to the digital book 😓😓😓😓 Anyway, there's a video of the experiment in page 31 which is really interesting!

#COroN-ARTE! - Mondrian

#COroN-ARTE

MONDRIAN

Starting this week, I'm going to write in this blog one art lesson per week.

And we are going to begin with ...

 PIET     MONDRIAN

Piet Mondrian was a Dutch artist best known for his modern abstract paintings.

Do you want to know more about Piet?  Check this links:

HOMEWORK

What are we going to do?

You need to choose a simple design (a flower, a ball, an owl, a cat, a hot air ballon, a letter,... ) and you are going to colour it with "Style", the same design that Mondrian did with many of his paintings.

What do we need?

Pencil
Colored pencils
Rubber
Piece of paper
Ruler
Time
Patience

Here are some examples!*

(*) = This examples were drawn by former students of mine :)

#StepbyStep

Hello HELLO!

I'd love to see your creations! You can send a picture of your drawing to my email: teacher4grade2019@gmail.com and if you and your parents agree, I can add it to our Pinterest.

Lesson 7. Natural Science: Healthy and Happy :)

LESSON 7

 NATURAL SCIENCE

Hello, hello!

I really hope you're healthy and happy :)

The name of this topic is 'Common illnesses' (Page 22 ) but I don't like it. So... we are going to change it!

The new name of the topic is going to be...

Healthy and happy

This topic is going to be divided in 3 parts:

1. Healthy eating

2. A healthy lifestyle

3. Health and medicine

HOMEWORK

You should have your Science notebook with you... So today your job is do an amazing title page/cover of this topic. You have to include:

  • Unit 3
  • Natural Science
  • The name of the topic (Healthy and happy)
  • Drawing

EXTRAHOMEWORK

Healthy and happy. That's the name of the topic.

Health is not only about your arm, leg or kidney, what you eat or how much exercise you do. It's also about emotions, about how you feel. We have to take care of that too.

How do you feel?

I feel good - James Brown

That's it for today!

Stay healthy ... and happy! 😄😄😄😄😄

Game of Books!

GAME OF BOOKS!

(Lockdown edition)

One of the best things - at least for me 😎 -  to do during this time at home is reading.

Are you reading a book? Which one?

Best library EVER! *-*

I've created a wall in Padlet (Yes, I might have copied the Spanish teacher...) so not only you can write me your doubts but also you can write there which one is your favourite book and tell us why.

I'll be waiting for your book's opinions!

Tutorial - How to use Liveworksheets

HOW TO USE LIVEWORKSHEETS

1. Enter in this website: https://es.liveworksheets.com/ and click "Acceso alumnos"

2. Enter your USER and the PASSWORD

Your parents have received an email with that info. Ask them politely!

The user has the first letter of your name and surnames...

Example: Name Surname1 Surname 2 (4thA) --> User: NSS_CuartoA

3. You have two notebooks with different worksheets.

(I know, I know... The front covers are awful, I'll try to change them. Give me time!)

4. Notebook 1: 4th Grade Grammar/Vocabulary REVIEW

It's a REVIEW! We have done in class most of these worksheets, but you can do them again if you want to practise, you are bored or just for fun!

5. Notebook 2: 4th Grade New Worksheets

In this notebook are the NEW WORKSHEETS!

WARNING! I know some of you have already done these worksheets but it won't appear here. So... Two options:

1. Do not worry! The English Teacher already saw what you sent to her. #HakunaMatata

2.  Do them again! You can do them again and get better marks ;) #HakunaMatata

I hope this was useful!

If you have doubts you can write them here

It's MON(ster)DAY!

Last week we finished Unit 5. You can still do all the activities checking the previous lessons.

This week we are going to start a new unit.  Let's start with the vocabulary!

HOMEWORK

Learn the vocabulary in Unit 6. You can use a piece of paper to study or this quizlet, it's up to you!

Also, practice the spelling!

Activity Book --> Page 58. Ex: 1

EXTRA HOMEWORK

Do you know what a crossover is?

In TV, a crossover is when two or more different things - movies, characters, tv shows - are together in one movie or episode.

For example: Avengers: Infinity War is a HUGE crossover.

Well, today we are going to do a crossover between English and Maths.

Why don't you review the numbers in English?

Numbers 1-100 (1st Edition)

Numbers 1-100 (2nd Edition)

Ordinal Numbers (1st - 20th)

Time Tables (Games)

Did you know....? In UK, students have to study the times tables  from 1-12!

Have a nice Mon(ster)day!
