Natural Science - Experiments!

NATURAL SCIENCE

Experiments

In Tuesday's class we did - well, I did - some experiments related to matter and forces.

Some of you texted me after because you wanted to know how to do them.

There are HUNDREDS of experiments really cool to do at home.
I've chosen only 5.

I've looked for some info so you can do them at home.

BE CAREFUL!

and do it under adult supervision.

This blog is FULL of links ;)

Color density tower

Densidad de los líquidos: líquidos en varias capas y colores

You can do it with different liquids that you have at home (soap, honey, milk, water, oil, alcohol...)
but there is another way to do it...

With SUGAR!

Iron Man Science

This is exactly what I did the other day with my jar.

You need iron powder/filings, you can buy it in an ironmongery, for example.

Magnet toys

There are many toys that actually use magnets.
Maybe the most famous one is Geomag

You can build your own tiny games with magnets.

Lava lamps
This experiment is really simple but pretty cool!

You'll need a jar or bottle, water/vinegar, food colouring, oil...
and the 'magic' ingredient: baking soda.

Have a great weekend! :D

#COroN-ARTE: Agamographs

           AGAMOGRAPHS

This week we're going to do an   AGAMOGRAPHS

An   AGAMOGRAPHS  is a series of images that change at different angles.  When you view the finished agamograph, you’ll see one complete image from one point of view, and the other one from the opposite angle.

This work is named after the artist Yaacov Agam.

So, who is Yaacov?

The interior of the Yaacov Agam Museum of Art (Photo by Shooka Cohen)Yaacov Agam Park West Gallery
Yaacov Agam is an Israeli artist that was born in 1928,  he is 92 years old!!!!

There is a museum dedicated to his art and there is an award created specially for him!

What are we going to do?

We are going to do an  AGAMOGRAPH  choosing the design that you like the most. It can be anything!

Option 1 - Build your own!

1st. Design, draw and colour!

You're going to need 2 pieces of paper (I divided them in 2).

Use the ruler to divide them into rectangles and number them in the correct order.

Draw and colour your designs!
Today is 5th June: World Environment Day!

2nd. Cut each strip!

Yes! Cut them carefully!

3rd. Glue the strips - in order - in the other piece of paper.

For example: 1A-1B-2A-2B-3A-4A...

4th. Fold in an accordion style, front and back.

YOU GOT IT!!!

Option 2 - Using a template!

The steps are mostly the same but you can use a template.

You'll need a printer 😣
(If you don't have one, like your teacher, you can do option 1)

I've found this one for free

There are plenty of designs on the internet to inspire you.

I believe it's always better to do your own :)

Hi there!

I'd love to see your creations! You can send me a pic of your drawing through #Teams or to my email. And if you and your parents agree, I can add it to our Pinterest
