Natural Science - Experiments!

NATURAL SCIENCE

Experiments

In Tuesday's class we did - well, I did - some experiments related to matter and forces.

Some of you texted me after because you wanted to know how to do them.

There are HUNDREDS of experiments really cool to do at home.
I've chosen only 5.

I've looked for some info so you can do them at home.

BE CAREFUL!

and do it under adult supervision.

This blog is FULL of links ;)

Color density tower

Densidad de los líquidos: líquidos en varias capas y colores

You can do it with different liquids that you have at home (soap, honey, milk, water, oil, alcohol...)
but there is another way to do it...

With SUGAR!

Iron Man Science

This is exactly what I did the other day with my jar.

You need iron powder/filings, you can buy it in an ironmongery, for example.

Magnet toys

There are many toys that actually use magnets.
Maybe the most famous one is Geomag

You can build your own tiny games with magnets.

Lava lamps
This experiment is really simple but pretty cool!

You'll need a jar or bottle, water/vinegar, food colouring, oil...
and the 'magic' ingredient: baking soda.

Have a great weekend! :D

Lesson 23. Natural science. Unit 6: Machines

LESSON 23

 NATURAL SCIENCE

MACHINES

Hello matter!

This is the end...  Unit 6: Machines

HOMEWORK

You could do a new front-cover if you want. It's not necessary!

The only theory you should copy in your notebook about this topic is the different types of simple machines and what is a lever, a pulley and an incline plane (1 sentence each!).

Here is the document, with all you need to know about machines :)

Friendly reminder! You have the book pages in #Teams ("Archivos" - "Natural Science" - "Unit 6: Machines")

EXTRA HOMEWORK

Project 1: Build your own simple machine!

1st. Choose your simple machine: a lever, a pulley or an inclined plane.

2nd. Build it! You can make it really simple or more complex, it's up to you!

3rd. Add an image/video of your simple machine to  #Teams

OPTIONAL

This is completely optional.

Project 2: Tell us about your fav inventor/invention!

It can be about an invention or an inventor,
whatever you prefer.

If it's about an invention, tell us: what is it, what is it used for, date of invention, who invented it, why did you choose it, ...

If it's about an inventor, tell us: when and where was she/he born, a little bit about his/her life, inventions, quotes, ...

In any case, you can do a presentation (or not), show us pictures (or not)...

IT MUST BE IN ENGLISH!

And you'll do it in a video call with the teacher and other classmates.
Next Tuesday!

Write the teacher in Teams so she knows you want to do it ;)

Pn: in this video you can see how to build different types of machines!

Lesson 22. Natural science. Unit 5: Forces

LESSON 22

 NATURAL SCIENCE

FORCES

Hello matter!

Today's going to be about Unit 5: Forces

HOMEWORK

You could do a new front-cover if you want. It's not necessary!

You should copy the theory in your notebook. You can check the book or the document that I've done, it's up to you!

Here is the document, with all you need to know about forces :)

Page 96. Ex: 1. Unit mindmap.

You can do your own - I prefer it! - or follow the one in the book!

Friendly reminder! You have the book pages in #Teams ("Archivos" - "Natural Science" - "Unit 5: Forces")

EXTRA HOMEWORK

Complete the following exercises in your notebook:

Page 94. Ex: 1 and 3
Page 95. Ex: 4

I highly recommend you to read the story about Newton in pages 90 and 91.

Read carefully page 92. Then, watch this video about Archimedes' Principle.

Lesson 21. Natural Science. Unit 4: Matter (II)

LESSON 21

 NATURAL SCIENCE

MATTER

Hello matter!  It's Friday!!!

This is the matter lesson, part II.

And yes, it matters.

HOMEWORK

You should copy the theory. You can check the book or the document that I've done, it's up to you!

Here is the document, with all you need to know about matter :)

Friendly reminder! You also have the book pages in #Teams ("Archivos" - "Natural Science" - "Unit 4: Matter")

Have a nice weekend!

Lesson 20. Natural Science. Unit 4: Matter

LESSON 20

 NATURAL SCIENCE

MATTER

Hello matter, YOU matter!

I hope you're strong today cause we're going to start the last part of Natural Science!

HOMEWORK

First thing should be doing the front-page:

NATURAL SCIENCE

UNIT 4

MATTER

(Your drawing)

After the front-page, you should copy the theory. You can check the book or the document that I've done, it's up to you!
